How to get job in Lagos is not an easy task. But what isn’t hard that is good? The truth is: a lot of people that are unemployed today would still have been even if there were enough jobs. Just like any other goal, getting a job requires a strategy or call it a game plan. The implication is that: a lot of people knows and understand this strategy am about to share keeping getting offers as much as 5 while majority others do not even get any offer in 2 years. It baffles me when I hear that someone has been looking for job for a whole 2 years without getting any offer.

The type of problem I would expect anyone to have is: that of unsatisfying working conditions, not the issue of not getting offers at all.

So here below are key strategies you can adopt in order to land yourself in your dream job in Lagos.

  1. Quality Network

They say your network is your net worth. This is so true. Look inside your network and do a sincere evaluation and then ask yourself: is this my network capable of pushing me to the next level that I want to be? If your answer is no, then you need to start making deliberate effort to network with the right people. This will lead you to start asking questions such as: where do I meet and how do I network? In response to this question, I always advise people to make themselves seen. Be visible. Don’t hide away. You need help and you are invisible, that’s suicidal. Are you a Christian? Join your church work force and take every task given to you as an opportunity to show your excellence. That’s your self-brand. There are other societies to join, such as old student association, Rotaract etc.  Just be visible.

  1. Great and Professional CV

Your CV should not only be professionally written and arranged; it should also be great. By this I mean it should be enticing enough to wow your potential employer. The question is: what type of contents that can wow my potential employer? To be able to answer this, you need to put yourself in the shoes of your potential employer. Does my CV carry adequate skill set for the job title that is being advertised? If you have the skill set, then your CV should show it. Your CV is your identity. In other words, it speaks for you even in your absence when you can’t be there to explain.
